For this project I was inspired by the popular game Tangram- a game consisting of seven basic geometric figures, which are combined to create different shapes.
I wanted to transform the idea of this ancient game using new geometric forms, which will allow kids to look for new unexpected combinations.
I created a net of 21 geometric figures, each one with angles of 60 and 120 . This size gives kids a greater number of options to choose from.
They can use their imagination in creating a variety of models with clear provocative stylization.
Kids in the kitchen
The thing that most inspired me in creating this project is the way kids present their own point of view and feelings about the daily life of adults and the way they imitate their parents and copy ordinary and sometimes annoying activities, chores like shopping and doing the housework. They turn them into something funny and amusing.
Seeing magic in common simple things is an ability only kids have in such great quantity. This should be used in the best possible way to promote their sensitivity, social skills and cognition.
Role- playing is one of those games which are always different and never boring. These games have no rules and kids create their own plot and way of playing. That’s why it’s one of their favourite games.
‘Kids in kitchen’ is a collection of toys for role- playing whose aim is to provoke a child’s creativity, imagination and senses with intense emotional vision.
Avoiding the exact imitation of objects, my goal was to create a strong appearance in gentle easily acceptable forms.
With all the children’s needs in view, ‘Kids in kitchen’ was designed in easy to use forms and dimensions. Its main target is to help children gain new experience and to promote their confidence and awareness to the world.
